Had a good trip up 513 again today on Red. I marked the snow line with a spot ok msg. which took a bit transmit; however, it finally went. Just below Blue Pt. Pretty funny waiting for an e-mail on the phone to confirm... Times we're living in. At any rate, I noticed (rode) a newly routed section where there was a strenuous climb I liked. The new section must have been made earlier this week. It's very similar to what was done atop of Wallman not too long ago. Remember that tough little climb? I guess the tough climbing areas erode pretty quickly and ruin trails. This new section prevails just prior to the last junction where one can bail off to still drop down to Three Pines (or Larch or what ever one wishes to call it). Nice new trail work. Fortunately there's still plenty of difficult sections on Sheep. The wing is not a fan of descending rooty drop offs - that's for sure. There were two hikers along the lower section. Heading down, I cut back over to a road to catch the normal Three Pines and then over the music in my ears I heard the familiar wooooshhh of a rear tire going down. Slashed another tire. Guess I'm going to have to stop recycling the old ones. Actually, slashing them pretty well takes care of that anyway. I used a cliff bar wrapper again and crept down the road, skipping the fun single track. I then ran into a friend climbing the road I'd not seen in a long time. I said I better head down before the wrapper rips through the tear. It once again worked and I made it to the lower p-lot.Following the above, I swapped to the big sur and rode to the windsock with the LR. We went up the canyon trail where I recently bought it. Plenty of little repeats for the LR today, but he got it done. The sun really brought out a lot of mountain bikers today. Nice to see. Missoula is an active community.
