My daughter and I decided Thursday night to do a two hour ride around town. So we started out the Kim Williams in some light rain and then caught the single track along the rifle range which connects to the Deer Creek road. This is a fun little track that runs just between the rail road and the range. Coming down the single track heading east, we were surprised by a man hiking his bike up heading back to the Kim Williams. He quickly pulled a camera with a long lens out of his backpack and photographed our descent. I was not sure what to make of it so we just kept riding the track to the Deer Ck. road. We then rode up the road along a pretty tough climb so we made the decision to not make a loop up to Pattee, but to head back the same route and then ride around the trails in town. However, maybe we could catch the guy who took the shots and ask him to e-mail them to us.We reached the point where I photographed the fox recently and there he was taking photos of the swollen Clark Fork. He said he was from China and his name was Jun, a Doctoral candidate in the College of Ed. at the U. I gave him a card with an e-mail address and he said he'd send them along. We thanked him and then rode to the carousel. There were festivities going on in the Pavilion area, including a band and food vendors. We decided to ride back across the river and down to the Osprey field. At this point it was a bit windy with some mild rain and it was about nine PM. The night ended at the Pita Pit. A couple of days later we got Mr. Jun's e-mail and thanked him.
